CREATIVE JOURNEY

I started out flying a drone just for fun. I’d spend hours in my neighborhood, aimlessly flying, and filming whatever caught my eye. That’s where everything really began. The more opportunities I got, the more I realized I didn’t just love to fly drones, but also I loved to take photos and videos. My newfound passion lead me to invest in new equipment so that I could expand beyond aerial work.

Living in the Detroit area, my company started as “Detroit Aerial”. As I started growing and thinking bigger than just Michigan, I realized the name no longer fit where I wanted to go creatively or geographically. I wanted something that felt personal and true to who I am.

Being born and raised in The Bahamas, I drew inspiration from my Caribbean roots and rebranded to zunzun creative. El Zunzun (“zoon-zoon”) is a Cuban Emerald hummingbird. This bird, originally from Cuba, is also found in The Bahamas. Not only did I connect with the location, hummingbirds can also hover in place with extreme precision, just as drones do. These connections fascinated me to create a whole brand around it.

My company now isn’t just a name, but a reflection of my background and character.
